Court upholds death sentence for 20 Brotherhood members

The Minya Criminal Court upheld its previous ruling that sentenced 20 members of the Muslim Brotherhood to death for killing Mostafa al-Attar, the Matai village sheriff’s deputy, and for storming and burning the police station after the dispersal of the Rabaa sit-in last year.

The court was convening on Monday to consider a retrial of 161 defendants, including 10 suspects in absentia, and decided to postpone hearing 151 defendants to the last week of January next year.
